Editor's Note

“I couldn’t keep up with all I felt,” writes Angela Townsend, “scrawling adverbs at stoplights and asking three-legged cats to slow down so I could get it right.”

The works of poetry, prose, and art in this issue strive to encapsulate our emotions, to “get it right,” while avoiding the phrases we’ve heard so many times they’ve lost meaning. Each piece captivates the reader and shows us a different way to think. “Fog Carves Time” forever changes how we see fog, “Enormous” recounts a platonic love story that began in a cat sanctuary, and “Venus” presents a collage that surprises and delights. These and many other inventive pieces make up our latest issue.

This issue would not have been possible without the many people dedicated to the magazine. Thank you to our wonderful contributors, tireless staff, and of course, our readers. We hope you enjoy Issue 73: Winter of The Penn Review.
