high. coo.

Nicolle Chantal Kim Moffat

i.
shivering beneath
the dry pink sky, our bodies
reluctantly bloom.

ii.
bloodshot, barreling;
your eyes like warm peroxide
heavy on the wound.

iii.
was it smoke, gin, or
swallowed apologies that
caught you by your throat?

iv.
lure the memory.
cut its belly, crawl inside.
stay warm till sunrise.

Nicolle Chantal Kim Moffat is a Korean American poet and high school dropout who earned her B.A. in English at the University of California, Berkeley. When she is not playing with her cat Amelia, she is building weird websites, loitering local parking lots, and attempting to put into words what cannot be put into words. Her work can be found in Warm Milk Publishing.
