Rosebuds

Linda Wang

Grow up into wine splashes,
Liver spots and
Spilled confetti guts after a good
Hard rain.

Each small gurgle
In the shrinking cavern,
Each purple vein,
Hands turning to Indian corn,
Mortal and pester.

What’s eating you?

All them little critters, honey.
