Jacob Cherry is an acrylic painter and Ph.D. student in philosophy who often escapes his dissertation by turning to color and texture. Born in Romania and of Romani heritage, he carries forward a tradition of storytelling that is rooted in memory, resilience, and lived experience. He now lives and works in the United States, where his studio practice doubles as both creative expression and dissertation avoidance.
