Artist Statement: This is a piece of Polaroid paper shot by a camera exposed to humidity for more than fifteen years, revealed in a closed room with an intense artificial white light. Since I didn't know what was going to happen, I thought whatever it was, they would be a complete failure. And when I first saw it I couldn't help to think: “I never thought the image of failure would be that beautiful.”

Patrizia Pedraza (Madrid, 1995) is a Spanish writer and photographer. She is based in Toulouse, France, where she finishes her studies in Philosophy. As a photographer, her lines of research are based on the concept of “estrangement” in art and recently she had her poetry published in Berkeley Poetry Review's Midterm 5.
